Called these two in back in 1988 at seperate locations about 45 miles apart. The color differences were interesting. Both were killed with the Hornet in the picture. Obviously effective, the load used was 11.4 gr IMR 4227 pushing a 50 gr Remington bullet and lit with a CCI 400 primer. The left one stopped at 75 yds to try and spot me, the right
one galloped right past me also looking to spot me. For what it's worth, both times the sun
was behind me and I was sitting in shadows.

This one decided against just crossing the road and ran ahead of the car for a while.

Ricky Racoon here wanted to try blowing
my coyote call but I decided not to let him. He was non-target so I just teased him a while and
he went on his merry way.

Earlier in my life, this coon tested my knowledge for 2 or 3 days before I discovered his trick of
releasing the bait pedal on a #2 long spring. The fur buyer was amazed at the size of this bandit,
XX large. From the good old days when trapping paid and Anti's just wore the fur and enjoyed it.

My new bench (2001) is not always this clean. The base is a kitchen cabinet base
from a remodel job. It is working out great, really enjoy the storage. The 2 wooden shelving units are actually drawers from under a display case at a "discount" store I worked in
back in the 70's. I caught them just before they hit the dumpster. Dovetailed maple laminate, sometimes you just have to love overkill. They will outlast me.
My first kill with the 220 Swift, February 1999. Went through him like a pencil, small hole in small hole out. Dropped in his tracks under 50 feet from the muzzle. You gotta love sitting in the shade. A few months later and he was watching me at my desk. The taxidermist asked me "What kind of expression do you want on his face?" "Surprised as hell" was my first thought but went for "just curious". He didn't have time to be surprised.
