7/1/2009 I've always heard that "you gotta get back on the horse". And while I guess that has some merit, sometimes it's easier said than done. Some of you read about or saw the results of my blunder on Memorial day in which I blew up my Beretta 9000. I jumped in and replaced the destroyed pistol with another 9000 and since it was possible, I compared the 2 barrels with a mic. Finding them to be exactly the same dimensions, I put my old barrel on the new gun and headed out to the range. What would be my "first shot fired since...." was to be through the same old barrel. When I squeezed the trigger nothing happened. So I opened my eyes and realized the hammer wasn't cocked. Then I realized that I hadn't cycled a round into the chamber. Yea, I was just a little rattled and apprehensive. But I chambered a round, pointed the gun and pulled the trigger. And simple as that, I had my old gun back. more |
